Born in the slums, Krollas crawled free and established himself in the city proper. His job as a detective is dragging him back and into depths he wishes he was unfamiliar with.

Krollas, the only true Mage in Kormos not bound to one of its ruling Families, has made his place in Kormos somewhere between the underworld and the upper crust. For the first time in years, though, one of his assignments has his life in danger, and the deeper he digs, the more corruption and Corruption alike he finds. Will the corrupted of the city be able to continue their plans, or will the light of Krollas's investigations reveal their twisted hearts?
