About Novelizing

Novelizing is a community for sharing and discovering new fictions. It was created by authors, for authors with author friendly terms.

The creators of this site are all authors. It is the platform we wish we had.

The Novelizing Constitution

We are committed:

  1. To cultivating a supportive, engaged community of readers and writers.
  2. To empowering authors with effective and fair opportunities to earn from their craft.
  3. To providing education and pathways for traditional publishing, self-publishing, or hybrid publishing — whichever path an author chooses.
  4. To maintaining integrity, ensuring transparency, and refusing to engage in shady, predatory, or exploitative practices. As authors ourselves, we constantly ask: Are we building the platform we wish we had?
  5. To creating a space where authors and readers can connect, celebrate great storytelling, and uplift one another. We champion writing as a career and foster a community built on the belief that a rising tide lifts all boats.

Premium and monetisation

Novelizing is free to use for all readers and authors. Some authors may choose to monetise their work, which means they offer advance chapters, and possibly other things, to premium readers.

If you sign up for Premium, 70% of your subscription goes to the authors you read, based on view count. The remaining 30% goes to Novelizing to cover costs. Income is paid out monthly based on an open formula.

  • Our monetization model follows a hybrid approach, combining revenue from premium subscriptions, advertising, and direct patron sponsorships.
  • 70% of premium subscription revenue is distributed directly to monetized authors, based on reader engagement.
  • 30% of all ad revenue is added to this pool as well.
  • Direct sponsorships from readers provide an additional way for authors to earn.
