In a world on the brink of transformation, Varus Thorne lived an ordinary life building houses for other families while cherishing his own. One night changed everything.

When the Flux, a mysterious energy connecting all living things, awakens on Earth, it brings with it monstrous creatures, devastating disasters, and the sudden collapse of society. For most, it means death. For some, it grants incredible power.

Rescued by Lady Vash Acaelus, a representative of the enigmatic Nyxen who claim to master the Flux, Varus is taken to their world to become an initiate in their deadly games. With a mechanical respirator sustaining his damaged lungs and a crimson-cored blade in his hand, he must navigate treacherous alliances, collect ancient seals, and unlock the secrets of his own bloodline.

But as Varus grows stronger, developing abilities no initiate should possess, he uncovers fragments of truth about the Nyxen and their real interest in him. Their intentions are darker than he imagined, and the voice calling to him through the Flux offers both answers and power.
